I met up with Jennifer duBois at the Central Library in Austin, Texas last week. We had a wonderful conversation. Mostly, we talked about her novel "The Spectators" (Penguin Random House 2019), though we also talk briefly about her other two books, "A Partial History of Lost Causes" and "Cartwheel." An alumna of the Iowa Writers' Workshop and Stanford University's Stegner Fellowship program, duBois is the recipient of a Whiting Award and a National Endowment for the Arts Creative Writing grant. She teaches in the MFA program at Texas State University.
It was fun meeting Jennifer, and I can't wait to read her next book so that I can talk with her again.
